Liverpool: Fans respond to Jordan Henderson Anfield trophy lift message

Liverpool have posted a personal message from Jordan Henderson about Wednesday’s Anfield trophy lift.

The Merseyside outfit have waited 30 long years for such a moment to come about again, and finally they will be able to celebrate their success.

Jurgen Klopp’s side clinched the title back in June after their victory over Crystal Palace and Manchester City’s defeat to Chelsea. In their final home game of the season, they will be presented with the trophy, dressed in the blood red ribbons of Liverpool. After their guard of honour and 90 minutes on the turf, the Reds will hold aloft their prize in front of the team that gave them the extra nudge over the finish line.

Chelsea will travel to Anfield tomorrow night to play out their penultimate Premier League match of this season.

Henderson has urged fans to stay at home so as to not ‘undo all the great work the NHS has been doing’ since coronavirus forced the UK into lockdown.

Many fans have responded to the skipper’s message and are agreeing with his instructions. One supporter has tweeted that watching the trophy lift is ‘honestly all I want’ whilst another has commented ‘we are so ready’.
