Kelleher, who graduated from Liverpool's youth academy, has been a part of the senior side since 2019. In the current season, he has enjoyed a good run of form having appeared in 26 games across all competitions and stepping up when first-choice custodian Alisson was injured.

According to the , Nottingham Forest approached the Reds over a possible transfer of the Irish goalkeeper in the January transfer window but saw their bid turned down. Now Forest are reportedly ready to come up with a fresh offer in the summer, however, they could face competition from Celtic who are also keen on his signature.
The report further claimed that the Merseyside club are unlikely to stand in Kelleher's way if he wants to leave the club in search of more game time.
