Merseyside native Gerrard stepped out of the Anfield academy system to take in 710 appearances for the club over 17 seasons. Having made his debut as a starry-eyed 18-year-old, it comes to no surprise to find that he was the youngest player to reach 250 top-flight outings for Liverpool.

Gerrard achieved that feat at the age of 26 years and 200 days. It was always going to take something special to erase that entry from the history books, but Alexander-Arnold has eclipsed the efforts of his fellow home-grown star.
